One day one of our visitors had some trouble getting set up with an O’Reilly account. We got some tips from an NU Librarian, and since the resource is so great, we wanted to make sure everyone had access to those tips:
- Establishing an account: Everyone needs to use the O’Reilly link within the NU Library portal to create their free account in order for O’Reilly to recognize the NU affiliation.
- On the O’Reilly log in page we don’t log in under the Select Your Institution section—instead, we log in under Institution not Listed?—Click Here
- Then select “Already A User? Click Here”
- then type in your NU email address and click Continue
- when i tried this, it seemed to create my account, but some sections of the page showed an error.
- then I tried to log in again, and chose “forgot password” (even though I hadn’t set one up)
- This got me an email message with a reset link. I used that, and things seemed to work.
If you are trying to read a book on O’Reilly learning and you find that the content is cut off before the actual end of the page, you may need to clear your browser cache.
